WEST ISLAND PAGAN ASSOCIATION

W.I.P.A is the West Island Pagan Association. We are located in Pointe-Claire, QC. We've been around since 2000; we've had a few incarnations and made some major but necessary changes.

We aren't public - we have to make that quite clear. One of the things we realized was that a public group was entirely undesirable. It attracted great folks but quite a few people who greatly influenced and created a lot of nasty energies. None of us had the time, or the patience to deal with this kind of baggage.

Eventually, the leaders of the group burned out as a result. We went on Sabbatical. There have been a couple of false starts but these were necessary. The people running the organization had to learn how to say "No!" and mean it. A lot harder than it sounds ;)

W.I.P.A. holds semi-public rituals; by this, we mean you have to contact us and there has to be a meeting. We protect our members.

The rituals have a Thelemic bent as the organizers are Thelemites. We're not talking gnostic masses and such, just an overall view of personal responsibility and the building of leadership skills. Everyone is expected to conduct a ritual.

Everything is shared - set up, take down and clean-up. W.I.P.A does not provide chief cooks and bottle washers for the community. It is a shared responsibility.

Drugs are not permitted. The organizers are Thelemites, to be sure but not sheep, blindly following the downward spiral of Crowley and his associates.

Regardless of the tone of this page; W.I.P.A is a wonderful, welcoming group of people. They simply have been around the community long enough to establish a few ground rules, in order to eliminate misunderstandings later.

Dark Lillith and her consort Northern Heat oversee the plans, the events and the rituals. DL is a Crone and NH is a Sage. Both have been around the block more times than they care to count.
